Alexander Yrievich Burmeister founded basic principles in 1964 year. Once he had got into difficult icy surroundings he survived and helped other people stay alive and healthy. In 1964 he methodically started to investigate icy situation in the middle and north parts of Baikal.
These observations became the bases for creating specific scientific and practical system of opportunities for people and cars and lorries to pass through ice - covered Baikal. Finally general system for safe passage under complicated navigation conditions was created.
Due to the development of tourism infrastructure (winter tourism included) the problem of safety has become very urgent, especially when traveling by vehicles on ice-covered Baikal. The problems mentioned above become an important part of tourist's routes.
BAIKAL ICY CAPTAIN LIGUE offer the following:

1. Practical recommendations how to make up routes you have to chosen, the time and ways of transportation. At certain points of the route, if it is necessary, get in touch with our stationary campus.
